The Neighbor’s Secret Invitation
Gustavo had always considered himself a man of predictable tastes. At twenty-one, he was confident and handsome. But a humid Friday night in Maracaibo changed everything. He was sharing drinks with his aunts when Virgilio, a neighbor from the nearby residences, joined the gathering. Virgilio was everything Gustavo wasn’t: thirty-two, towering, with piercing blue eyes that seemed to see right through him.
As the night wore on, a strange, electric tension built between them. Every glance felt like a challenge, every accidental brush of the shoulder sending a jolt through Gustavo’s spine. When Gustavo went to change the music, Virgilio leaned in, his voice a low, rich rumble against Gustavo’s ear. The proximity made the younger man freeze, his skin prickling with an unfamiliar, sudden heat.
