More Than Just Homework
Raul had always been my closest friend, the kind of companion who made every mundane school day feel like an adventure. For a long time, I had harbored a secret crush on him, a magnetic pull that I assumed was entirely one-sided. He was the quintessential athletic guy, yet there was a tenderness in the way he looked at me that kept my hopes flickering.
When our teacher assigned a partner project, I jumped at the chance to work with him. We agreed to meet at my house on Thursday afternoon while my parents were out. As we sat side-by-side on the living room floor, the air between us felt thick with an unspoken tension. Every accidental brush of our shoulders sent jolts of electricity through my body.
I could tell he was nervous; he kept fidgeting, his gaze drifting from the textbook to my lips. Suddenly, he reached out, his fingers grazing my jawline. “I can’t focus on this,” he whispered, his voice low and husky. Before I could respond, he leaned in, closing the distance between us in a kiss that tasted of longing and relief. In that moment, the homework was forgotten, replaced by the heat of a desire we had both been hiding for far too long.
