Rapid Return: A Military Reunion

I returned home after being gone for almost 2 years of boot camp and job-specific training. I was in the best shape of my life and excited for the upcoming year. Prior to going to my next duty station, I was afforded a week of vacation, during which I wanted to visit my family's home.

I wanted to surprise my mother and sister so I didn't call ahead, but took an Uber from the airport. My mother Jess (37) with a toned body, answered the door with pure surprise on her face.

I then hugged her, the only way a mother can hug her child. It was a strong hug that pulled me in close, that she didn't feel like to let go.
