The Price of Devotion

The arrangement had been simple, brokered through a series of clandestine messages and an undeniable hunger for power. He had called himself a devotee, a man who craved the submission of his own will to someone who understood the art of dominance. I had played hard to get at first, savoring the way he pleaded through the screen, but the offer of a generous tribute eventually sealed the deal. It was the easiest money I had ever made, though the real currency was the thrill of absolute control.

When I arrived at his upscale apartment in the city’s most prestigious district, the tension was palpable. He opened the door, his eyes wide with a mixture of anxiety and raw desire. He was older than I expected, perhaps in his late forties, with the polished look of a corporate executive who spent his days giving orders and his nights longing to receive them. The moment the door clicked shut behind me, he collapsed to his knees, sliding across the hardwood floor like a servant returning to his master.

“Thank you for coming,” he whispered, his voice trembling. “I have waited so long for this.”

I didn’t offer a hand to help him up. Instead, I looked down at him with a cold, distant smile. “I had a long walk to get here,” I remarked, my tone devoid of sympathy. “My feet are tired, and you have a debt to pay.”

He scrambled to produce the agreed-upon cash, handing it over with shaking fingers before guiding me toward the living room. I claimed the oversized velvet sofa as my throne, reclining deeply and resting my feet on a plush ottoman. The power dynamic was instantaneous and intoxicating. I watched him, a man of status and wealth, reduced to a state of complete helplessness at my feet.

“Remove my sandals,” I commanded. “And breathe them in.”

He obeyed without a second’s hesitation. He pressed the leather against his face, inhaling deeply, his chest heaving with an intensity that bordered on desperation. I lit a cigarette, the smoke curling around me as I looked down at the man who had paid for the privilege of my disdain. I ordered him to worship my feet, and he dove in with a fervor that was almost religious, his tongue tracing the arches and the spaces between my toes with meticulous care.

I could see the flicker of conflict in his eyes—a hint of disgust battling with an overwhelming need to please. It only made the experience more satisfying. I pressed my heel firmly against his cheek, forcing him to look up at me. “Good boy,” I sneered, feeling the rush of adrenaline. “Keep going, or I might decide that your face is a better footrest than this ottoman.”

The threat only spurred him on. He redoubled his efforts, his tongue working with a renewed urgency, desperate to earn a shred of approval. As I sat there, draped in luxury and serviced by a man who had surrendered everything, I felt like the undisputed king of my own small, dark empire. This was only the beginning of his education in devotion.
