Sacred Desires
The heavy oak doors of the cathedral closed behind Elena, muffling the sounds of the bustling city. She walked with a purposeful stride toward the confession booth, her heart hammering against her ribs. Her meetings with Father Julian had become the center of her spiritual and physical orbit.
Inside the dim, velvet-curtained space, the air was thick with the scent of old incense and something more primal. Julian was waiting for her. He was a man of striking presence, with broad shoulders that strained against his black cassock and eyes that burned with a hunger he could no longer mask behind a veneer of piety.
“My Father,” Elena whispered, her voice trembling. “I have returned to confess the persistence of my desires.”
Julian leaned closer to the screen, his breath hitching. He knew the danger of this attraction, yet the pull was irresistible. He reached through the curtain, his fingers grazing her skin, igniting a fire that threatened to consume them both in the silence of the sanctuary.
