Shelter from the Storm
For weeks, M. had become the absolute center of my universe. Despite the attention of other women, my thoughts revolved solely around her. Our romance flourished in the shadows, meeting in the secluded corners of a dim park where we would hide among the trees, sharing stolen kisses and desperate, hungry embraces, always mindful of who might be watching.
One evening, the sky broke open, unleashing a torrential downpour that left us drenched and shivering. Seeking refuge, we hurried toward a small rooftop room. I waited in the darkness, my heart hammering against my ribs, until M. arrived with towels and the key. The room was pitch black, save for the faint, ghostly light filtering through the cracks, creating an atmosphere of heavy, electric intimacy.
As I began to dry her hair, M. looked at me with a mixture of surprise and longing. I pulled her close, our lips meeting in a collision of heat and desperation. The storm raged outside, but inside the small room, the only sound was the rhythm of our breathing and the frantic beat of two hearts finally finding their home.
